Tablescape Tuesday

Friday Steve and I motored down to Seal Beach to visit our son and daughter-in-love for an extended weekend. We arrived a little later than expected, due to a stop for lunch and a half-off sale at an antique store on the way...then getting caught up in a phenomenon near L.A. called rush hour traffic--although there was nothing rushing about it!! ;-)
We arrived to Zac and Amy's darling apartment and the most wonderful delicious smells were coming from the kitchen...then my eyes landed on the dining table where she had set a wonderful setting...and I exclaimed "Yay! I've got something for Tablescape Tuesday!!"
I thought she did a wonderful job and wanted to share it with you!!

She's a budget shopper like me...everything on here was either from a garage sale or on clearance from Target, or her favorite store, IKEA..

I loved how she mixed color and textures....

The dining table is an antique that we had for years and we gave it to Zac and Amy as a wedding present 5 years ago. I love her flair for mixing vintage and contemporary. Amy is a wonderful homemaker and a fabulous cook! She prepared a delicious salmon dinner for us....a great way to start our visit off!!
Thanks, Amy, for letting me show off your darling tablescape!! I am so proud of you!!

Stay tuned for more pics of our visit in Southern California...we ventured into Old Orange to frequent some of my favorite shops there!!
You can view more beautiful tablescapes at Between Naps on the Porch...

  1. ***How LOVELY that you adore, and are so proud of, your beautiful daughter-in-law ~~~ she must ADORE YOU, too (!!!), and that always makes life soooo NICE, I know, for EVERYONE!!! My precious M-I-L of 41 years (DH & I married when I was 3~~~ ha ha!), has been a TREASURE all these years, and has actually THANKED M-E, for making "my JIM"/"her son", "so happy"... and I'm SOOO GRATEFUL that SHE had HIM ~~~ it doesn't get any better than that, does it?!?!?! Warmest blessings to you & all your family (I don't have a blog, so no need to respond... just wanted to say hello to a "NICE, thoughtful & appreciative" mother-in-law!)~~~ Linda/ (RMS "Mom of a German Shorthair")~~~

  13. Myrna, You were in my neck of Calif. You have a beautiful and loving family. She is learning early about beautiful tablescapes and making a house a home. Your decorating is brushing off on her. Thrift stores are the best for treasures. Love and Prayers, Suzanne

  18. It seems when you first marry, that "budget" is where it's at. Helps, I think, to work as cement for the marriage. It seems if you work towards a common goal, things tend to last.
Adore the table and what you DIL did with it. Very inspiring.
