HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LINDY!! One year old today!!

They say that from the instant he lays eyes on her, a father adores his daughter. Whoever she grows up to be, she is always to him that little girl in pigtails. She makes him feel like Christmas. In exchange, he makes a secret promise not to see the awkwardness of her teenage years, the mistakes she makes or the secrets she keeps.

A mother's treasure is her daughter.            ~Catherine Pulsifer

A baby girl..

One of the most beautiful miracles in life,
one of the greatest joys we can ever know,
and one of the reasons why
there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness
in your world today.

So precious. And Amy's the best mommy!!

Discovering her toes..

Zac acts as if he's been a daddy all his life!

You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

~ Psalm 139:16

A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.
{Eda J. Le Shan}

Not so thrilled at her first trip to the pumpkin patch..

..but safe upon Daddy's shoulders, all is well again.

If your baby is "beautiful and perfect, never cries or fusses, sleeps on schedule and burps on demand, an angel all the time," you're the grandma.
 {Theresa Bloomingdale}

Walking at 11 months old!!

Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher's mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again.
--Jimmy Piersal, on how to diaper a baby, 1968

Every child begins the world again.
{Henry David Thoreau}

They will be spending Christmas with us! I am SO excited!!!

If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, and more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.
                                     {Vincent van Gogh}

Our baby granddaughter is one year old today! Amazing how the time has flown by. Amazing how much joy she has brought into our lives. Amazing how much she consumes our thoughts (and prayers!)
We thank the Lord for this most wonderful and precious gift!
