Christmas Under Glass

Here are a few Christmas displays set in cloches around the house..

Sigh. I have to try really hard not to compare myself with other blogs out there who seem so much better than mine. How DO they accomplish those professional looking pictures~all well lit and no glare on the glass??...well, I hope you'll accept my humble offerings of photos of Christmas Under Glass! ;-)

This is in the corner of my kitchen. I bought the cloche sans a handle for a dollar at the thrift. Took it home and glued a lid that I bought for fifty-cents at a garage sale. Yes, I buy lids~never knowing at the time what I'll do with them, but they end up coming in handy for one project or another. As in this cloche!! :-)

Here is a little better view of what's inside. Just added a couple of ornies and glitzy leaves to my everyday stuff and called it Christmas!

This one is in our front room. It seemed to take me FOREVER to get it right. I tried out several vases before finding this one that fits. Then needed just the right vintage ornament to accent it. PLUS every dish I set the cloche on didn't fit--it made the cloche all wobbly. Finally found this silver platter and all is well!

Another little closeup..

This little display is on our secretary that's in our foyer...

This started out as a small plastic wine glass that we kept in our picnic supplies. It fell and broke at the stem. I was about to throw it away when I looked at it again...and turned it upside down~ah-ha! A tiny little cloche!  Just big enough to house one small vintage ornament and oh, so cute!!
I am linking up with the fabulous Marty at A Stroll Thru Life, who is hosting a Cloche Party.            Ta-Ta for now!

There's more, much more, to Christmas Than candlelight and cheer; It's the spirit of sweet friendship That brightens all year. It's thoughtfulness and kindness, It's hope reborn again, For peace, for understanding, And for goodwill to men!
