Ordinary Day

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.

Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.

Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.

Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.

One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return."   {Mary Jean Iron}

Last Monday Steve and I took a drive in the country and lunched at one of our favorite wineries.
On the way up we marveled at the weather...how the mist and the fog made everything look so mysterious and magical. We loved it. I lamented that I'd forgotten my camera and thought as a last resort to use my phone camera, because I SO wanted to capture the beauty of the trees in the mist.
While noshing we noted how people were complaining about the weather...how dreary and awful it was.
It's all about perspective, I guess!

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us.....be glad in it. Ps. 118:24

  1. The poem is so true. We never seem to realize life when it is ordinary and so good until tragedy strikes. The pictures are so great. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Oh, those photos are gorgeous! And if people were complaining about your area, they'd never make it here where we have no green anywhere, except on the *occasional* evergreen tree. But I so loved the green grass you shared--I'd almost forgotten what it looked like....smile....Thanks! (And I'm glad you havd a lovely day out.) Blessings, Debra

  6. I live down the highway from you in Escalon. Even though the days can be dreary when we don't see the sky, I love the mist. It's magical! Hope you are feeling better.
