Christmas Week with Lindy

I've been sick in bed and roused myself because I wanted to post Lindy pictures before the New Year!
We met them at the airport...

..and it took Lindy a few minutes to warm up to us..

..but it wasn't too long till she wanted to be held by Grandpa!!

Zac showed her around once we got home....

and Steve introduced her to the skaters in the front room.

Another day, Steve and I took her to run errands with us. This is the one book she pulled out of the bookshelf and Barnes and Noble. :-)

Lindy with Uncle Caleb..

Lindy with us on Christmas Eve...getting ready to go to the church service.

Sweet Christmas picture of the darling family!

Lindy loved walking everywhere around the house..'twas hard to get a 'still' shot of her!

Her daddy helping her up the stairs..

So sweet.

Christmas morning walking around with Mr. Grinch from Uncle Caleb and wearing the beanie made by Auntie Courtney.

And trying out her new 'car' from us...

Lindy with Auntie Courtney

Her favorite person of the week (I think) was Grandpa!! She was always wanting him to hold her.

We motored up the hill the day after Christmas to play in the snow..Lindy's first time.

A snowman built by the kids with Caleb and Courtney in the background. It was a perfect day..it snowed huge snowflakes while we romped around..just gorgeous!

Zac and Amy also celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary while they were up here. They went out and spent the day/evening together while we got to have Lindy all to ourselves..Bliss!

We took Lindy to Costco...

..and on a walk, and just played and sang and chased her around. Since they don't live in town, we treasure those small things to do with a grand baby! ;-)

The week flew by..a jam-packed fun time. They left early Wednesday morning.
Hope your Christmas was wonderful!
I'm crawling back into bed now. Hoping if I rest today I'll have energy to take down Christmas decorations this weekend! Fortunately we've planned a quiet New Year's. Ta ta for now!

Merry Christmas!

Hello, Sweet Friends! Zac, Amy and Lindy have come up to Northern California to celebrate Christmas with us! It has been non-stop ever since they've gotten here, and I wouldn't have it any other way!! ;-)
I just wanted to take a moment to pop in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and to share a portion of a Christmas letter by my dear friend, Toni. I found it so poignant as it resonated with me, and I hope it will bless you as much as it did me. Thank you, Toni!

“Often we get caught up in the beauty and wonder of Christmas......and that is a good thing.....and yet we forget that on that night when Jesus was born it was filled with a mixture of uncomfortable circumstances, tiredness, fear, pain, the unknown......even amidst the beauty of angels, a Star and a newborn baby. It seems to me that Christmas today, 2010 years later, in many ways is much the same for a lot of us..... still filled with uncomfortable circumstances, fear, pain and the unknown....even amidst the beauty of decorated houses, parties, Christmas lights and gifts. And yet, Jesus is here.....in the midst of it all just like He was that first morning. So we can endure the negative, the unknowns and still have joy in celebrating the wonder of HIM......in Christmas 2010.

I wish that  through whatever challenges you are facing (and we all have our share).....that you will find JESUS......Who is the Wonder and One who truly is Christmas. And then together, we too can REJOICE WITH EXCEEDING GREAT JOY!”

Glory to God in the Highest

and on earth peace,

good will toward men

Welcome to My Christmas Home Tour 2010!!

Welcome! I hope you have a cup of hot cider, tea, or coffee with you!

I've festooned the front porch a bit...

And this is the view if you peek in the front door. Winston's eager to greet you when you come in!! ;-)

This is the foyer when you step in..see the red wool coat up the stairs? That belonged to my 88 year old father, who wore it when walking to school in the snow in Illinois when he was in high school. I love to bring it out and feature it at Christmas..

To the right of the front door is this cabinet. I just did a simple display..

And to the left of the door is our Christmas tree..Courtney decorated it..AND decorated the whole family room!

The view from the front room.

The secretary desk dolled up for Christmas..

I just added a few Christmasy doo-dads to what was already there..

And here is the front room..feel free to go warm yourself by the fire!

A little vignette on the coffee table...

The nativity vignette..you can see the other one here.

Another little table display..

This one all in gold.

Steve sets up his village every year. He uses baking powder (the large bag from Costco) for snow.

Views of the front room.

The dining room. If you'd like to see more, go here.

All ready for tea at a moments notice! ;-)

Back thru the foyer...

heading into the family room.

My daughter, Courtney, decorates the family room every year.

I think she does a fabulous job!

I love her attention to detail...wonder where she got that from? ;-)

A sweet little display on the kitchen counter.

My nod to a White Christmas..see more here.

And the heart of the home..the kitchen.

Since my kitchen is in pastels already, I just use all pastel colored decorations, new and vintage.

The little dining nook..

Of course, sweet Lindy is always on display..now with a few Christmas trees surrounding her!

I love my warm and homey kitchen!

And a sweet sentiment to leave you with..
and if you'd like to see the necessary room decorated for Christmas, go here.

Thank you for stopping in for a little tour. I hope it blessed you and put  you in a festive mood!!

During this Christmas season, May you be blessedWith the spirit of the season, which is peace, the gladness of the season  which is hope, And the heart of the season, which is love.
