Heart of the Home

Hi! I just got back from attending a beautiful wedding of my friend's daughter in San Diego and quickly snapped a few pictures of our kitchen just in time to participate in sweet Shelia's  Heart of the Home Party!

I had slapped up a few Fall decorations before I left...

The old white bowl on the counter containing tomatoes was recently given to me from Darlou, my MIL.
It had belonged to her mother. A new treasured heirloom!!

Here is the buffet all decked out~the pilgrims are out holding their bounty for Thanksgiving.
Steve and I bought the pilgrims on our trip to Vermont 4 years ago.

The ever changing centerpiece on our dining room table..the platter is from the Tracy Porter collection..and a thrift store find!

This is the view from the dining table. The 'E' above the stove was from the screen door of the house Steve grew up in. I am sentimental about EVERYTHING!! ;-)

And a lovely reminder on weary days.....

So that's our Heart of the Home~Thanks for visiting!...There are beautiful kitchens to be viewed over at Note Songs..
Check them out!!

There is no sight on earth more appealing than the sight of a woman making dinner for someone she loves.

  1. Hi Myrna! I'm so excited, I can't sleep, so I'm viewing your lovely kitchen very early in the morning! ;) Oh,it's so charming! I love your blue and yellow with touches of red color scheme. What a great idea using the olden vintage linens for window coverings! You have so many sweet things and I'm trying to see them a little closer! Oh, I just love your sweet kitchen and thank you so much for coming to my party!

  3. Hi Myrna, I have seen bits and pieces of your sweet kitchen before but never the whole thing. It is sooo cute. I love your breakfast area and the blue counters!! Girl, if you can't be sentimental in your kitchen then where's it going to happen?! We have lots of family heirlooms in our kitchen as well. I love it!!

That bowl from your mom containing tomatoes grown and given with love is quite touching.

Your kitchen is beautiful! I love the feel of the space. Your cabinets are so gorgeous, too.
