..I would direct you to the sign on the guest bathroom door.....;-)
I thought I'd give a little tour of our guest bathroom...it's been this way for awhile and I'm feeling like adding a little color to it. I'm thinking aqua....
I collect 'motto's' and like to display them in small spaces....
This little table was purchased at a garage sale for $2!! I painted it white and 'antiqued' it with furniture scratch cover, 'cause that's all I had in the house at the time. I have a discontinued wall paper book that I ripped a couple of pages out and glued them on the surfaces..covered the edges in trims found at Big Lots.
A close up of the collage that hangs above the table....
Here's the little vanity. I dream of someday fitting a small antique dresser in there and set the sink inside the middle...you've seen those before, I'm sure. I have the hand soap sitting in an old silver victorian pickle jar holder.
And a shelf above the commode..displaying some fun treasures. I think bathrooms are a fun place to display fun odds and ends, don'tcha think? I'll let you know when I get the aqua in there!!
Your guest bathroom appears to be the same size and layout as ours, but yours is so much warmer and more charming. Aqua would be a great choice. Sally
ReplyDeleteHow romantic and feminine, sweetpea! You've given me a great idea with the fabric hanging over the mirror. I'm going to try that in our guest bathroom. It just needs something to make it not so stark. I get such wonderful ideas surfing the bloggers. Beautiful, sugar.........

What a lovely "victoria" feel bathroom. This is so full of great delights for the eye. Look forward to the aqua. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love your bathroom...so victorian! I can't see the aqua but I am sure it will be lovely. I find that I tend to decorate monocromatic. I probably should try to be a little bit more splashy!
ReplyDeleteLove that shower curtain. Don't know how you did it, I am thinking you layered fabrics.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the "Shower Curtain"..it's really a whole bunch of lace tablecloths and panels..I just looped shower curtain rings thru the holes of the crochet tablecloths. And hid it all by creating a valance of more lace curtains/tablecloths draped over and tied up with a couple of creamy tie-backs that BFF Laura gave me. I really went for the 'layered look' didn't I!
ReplyDelete;-D
I just did the same application on the shower curtain in one of my bathes, I love the look I got but not easy to use. You have some nice ideas, aqua would look nice, I know because cream and aqua are the colors in my bathe!~Jacque
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling bathroom... I've been browsing around your blog, and, wow, what a beautiful home you have! So lush and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Myrna , I think that your guest bathroom is just gorgeous! It would be just perfect in my house. And my stars that shower curtain, if I was ever a guest you might have to check my bag on the way out jk (not really lol) :) Rose
ReplyDeleteDid I give you that Powder Room sign? I think so! It fits your home so much better than mine! I love you Guest bathroom....aqua would be pretty. Love Toni
ReplyDeleteI also think a warm medium brown would be pretty with all your cream touches. Toni
ReplyDeleteHi Myrna,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have you visit my blog and receive your sweet comments. We have a lot the same tastes! Your guest bath is so pretty with all your vintage touches. I love all you motto pictures too! I want to eventually hang a large picture frame on the wall and put all of them inside it to make it look more "together". I love my dresser vanity. It's really very simple to do. The hardest thing is finding the right dresser, Ha. Have a great day!!
Hi Myrna,
ReplyDeleteYour guest bath is about like our masterbath. These older houses, they didn't make the bathrooms big like a bedroom darn it! Except where your door is we have a window and then our sink vanity is out side the toilet and tub and seperated by a door.
I like your romantic touches, the frame with things in it. I use those frames with curved glass all the time when I can find them cheap . They are great to frame my button collections in.
My master along with the bedroom is getting a change too.
I have had lace and realy Victorian for a long time, now that I am doing the bedroom over when the floor goes in, then it must change too.
Thanks for the tour. Good luck with the paint choice!
Linda
What a sweet guest bath. You have such a way with your little vinettes. I always zoom in to see just how you have placed things.
ReplyDeleteSo here is a question, What would you do vinette wise in an old hoosier cabinet. I don't want it to look country but can't think what to do to display in it. I know you like challenges...so did I give you one? lol
Hugs
Becky
PS...it is a wood toned cabinet. Not painted.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Becky
Love it all! Such cute ideas which I plan to copy. :) Hugs, Debra
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I absolutely LOVE the shower curtain! ::::SWOOOON::::
