We had a little dinner party the other night...there were 8 of us and our table only sat 6 comfortably.
So off to Home Depot where Steve nabbed a sheet of plywood, took it home, cut the corners and sanded them..slapped it on top of our patio table, and voila! Cover it with a huge white bedspread and no one was the wiser! ;-)
I scored on a bunch of burlap sacs that I used for place mats. I plan to make pillows out of some of them later..
Beverly's Crafts had a sale on their faux succulents and I found a bag of mossy rocks at the Dollar Store. Made an arrangement in a silver casserole container.
Plan to set it on the coffee table later in the family room. No worries about it not getting enough sun..
The 'Ernst Cafe' cups are souvenirs from our trip a couple of years ago to New Orleans.
Napkins and cute holders are thrift store finds.
With Zac and Amy coming soon and the weather being beautiful, we'll be using this table quite a bit!!
Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Be sure to check them out..there are so many talented blogs listed there with fabulous ideas!
"For most of life, nothing wonderful happens. If you don't enjoy getting up and working and finishing your work and sitting down to a meal with family or friends, then the chances are that you're not going to be very happy. If someone bases his happiness or unhappiness on major events like a great new job, huge amounts of money, a flawlessly happy marriage or a trip to Paris, that person isn't going to be happy much of the time. If, on the other hand, happiness depends on a good breakfast, flowers in the yard, a drink or a nap, then we are more likely to live with quite a bit of happiness."

Quick thinking - setting looks terrific.

I've often thought of doing the same. It's a great way to extend a table. Love the burlap mats. I've a stack of coffee bags I need to transform into something. Just might follow your idea. ~ Sarah

Very pretty. I'm always picking up white sheets at thrift stores-so many uses. So much easier to clean too!
