You'd think I was in Europe...

....but no~ while in San Diego my friend, Anita, took me to Balboa Park where we perused the museums and lunched in the gardens. I thought the architecture was amazing, so I set my camera on 'sepia' and snapped away. The pictures would make a wonderful art project, so feel free to use them! Just right click on picture to save on your computer.
Enjoy!

Snake In Our Yard!

My big, strong, brave husband caught a snake with his bare hands!! The following pictures are not for the faint of heart...(just kidding) ;-)

Yep, there it is...a baby garter snake.
This is our third one we've found...the other two were full grown. One was a 4 ft garden snake IN OUR HOUSE! THAT was a little un-nerving! And another just gliding through the back yard. We've heard they're good to have around, which I don't mind if they stay outside. I have no idea how one got into our house!
While I had the camera out, I snapped a few of our dog, Winston....

He remained unimpressed by the snake...
Have a wonderful day!!
P.S. Thank you for the lovely congrats about our Anniversary! You guys are so sweet!

San Diego~Matilda's Mouse

I had a wonderful time in San Diego, visiting my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins and then my girlfriends. I wanted to tell you about my favorite place to visit, Matilda's Mouse Antiques. They are only open one weekend a month and I was so fortunate to be down there when they were open!

My dear friend, Sue as sweet enough to drive me up there (I was staying with her a couple of days).

And this is Gale, who I met via blogging at Theresa's blog Garden Antiques Vintage. Gale is a talented designer and dealer at Matilda's Mouse. It was such fun meeting her in person~She is a delight and a joy - and wait till you see her room!! Gale recently started blogging-pop over to her blog for a visit and welcome her to blogland!

This is Marla, the owner of Matilda's Mouse and she is holding her sweet dog, Matilda--yep--the store is named after her! How cute is THAT?! Marla is so sweet and charming and her love for all things vintage is contagious! Oh yeah, Matilda has a blog, too! Check it out here!
Okay, so here's Gale's room. It was fabulous! Everywhere you look is a feast for the eyes! I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves....
remember to click on pic for a closer view!

See that darling little green and white bone dish nestled behind the urn? I bought that as a sweet remembrance of my new friend, Gale.
I took so many pictures of the rest of the store that I'll have to do another post, so stay tuned!

Mind Wide Open....June

This month's Mind Wide Open challenge is this darling image designed by Gail, with the word prompt "WISH".

And here is my interpretation. I started with an old photo card taken out of a vintage photo album I had. I stamped lettering on the sides to mimic the lettering in the image along with a few decorative stamps. Then on to embellish with vintage lace and trims, buttons, earring and flowers. The quote "Every wish is like a prayer~with God" is from Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
There are other beautiful works of art over at Mind Wide Open....pop over there and vote for your favorite!!
