Hello and Welcome! For those who have visited my blog before, I have been away for MONTHS..since Steve retired almost a year ago, my life has been a happy blur! I just recently started visiting blogs again and happened upon Jennifer Rizzo's lovely blog and have joined her fun party..The Holiday Housewalk Party!
Come on in and I'll take you on a little candle light tour! :-)
Our stairs greet you in the entry way..
And to the right I displayed our nativity scene.
Here is another view of our entryway and the first of our several Christmas trees.
Coming thru the entryway is a little tabletop tree decked out with vintage ornaments.
And the nook has looked like this for awhile..I just added a few candles and baubles..
Before passing thru the lighted archway leading into the family room, a rustic Santa greets you.
For the past several years our daughter, Courtney, decorates the family room..
Courtney crochet the tree garland hanging from the mantle...love it!
I love all of her darling vignettes!
This is a little display above our Hoosier..the trays and apothecary jars are usually up there. I added a Santa cookie jar and 'snow' in the jars with battery operated 'candles' along with small ornaments filling another container..
Here is our kitchen all decked out in Christmas pastels..
I think I got a cavity when I decorated this tree...it's so sweet! Ha! Ha!
More vintage ornaments are used in the kitchen..
This is the formal dining room. It used to be wallpapered in cabbage roses...now it is a soft brown~I love the change! Last year this room was decked out in all shades of pinks and greens. This year it's all gold, silver, creams and browns.
A little display above the china cabinet..
I picked up some sparkly ornaments after Christmas last year and hot-glued them to a couple of candles. I use them all year round..
My sweet friend, Toni, sent me this 'frame' ornament one year and I put on of the few baby pictures I have of myself in it. It goes perfect in my 'new' dining room!
This is the sitting room..
Christmas carolers on the mantle...
And Steve's (my husband) village..I love all the detail he puts into it.
This coat was worn by my 90 year old father when he walked to high school in Evanston, Ill.
..a couple more details of Steve's village..
..and a reminder of the Reason for the Season!
Thank you so much for taking a tour of my home...hope you come visit again!
Blessings to you!
And thank you, Jennifer for hosting such a beautiful and inspiration filled party!!

ReplyDeleteSeason's Greetings, Myrna!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the lovely images of your home. I, too, love your Noel tree! And, your vignette including your father's coat stopped me in my tracks. What a thoughtful and loving thing to do. You are blessed to have such a keepsake that brings you loving memories, and especially at this time of year. It just really touched my heart to see that. That coat is probably the most beautiful idea I have seen this Christmas. I am now going to get something of my dad's to use in my decorating that will bring him closer to me this season...Truly, truly lovely.
Christmas blessings to you and yours,
Linda at Beautiful Ideas
